Another environmental song. I've been experimenting with writing songs from other people's perspectives, so this is from the perspective of the ultra-rich. You may detect a certain amount of cynicism in the lyrics.

I used to pride myself that my songs generally never had rude words in, but when I write songs looking at the state of the planet these days, they do seem to come out on to the page of their own accord.

The COP28 conference starts this week in Egypt, and the president for this year- a Saudi oil baron- has been revealed as planning to use the conference to get people to sign more oil deals, so my hopes aren't desperately high that it will produce massive results in terms of dealing with climate change and environmental destruction, but I would very much like to be proven wrong.
